Local Film Opportunity for High School Actors

AMES Cinematography club in need of actors for second feature-film

Salt Lake City, UT: High school students at the Academy for Math, Engineering & Science are gearing up for pre-production of their second feature-length film while their first has transitioned to the post-production stage. Before this can progress, AMES Cinematography needs actors, and we hope to widen our net beyond the AMES or Cottonwood student bodies currently at our disposal. To do this, we are contacting high school theatre teachers across the valley to pursue the best and brightest that the Salt Lake Valley has to offer.

The film is entitled Finding Mr. Mambrino, a modern-day adaptation of Don Quixote, and there are three starring roles up for grabs, as well as a handful of supporting roles, preferably around the 15-18 age range. There are also a few adult roles in need of casting.

It is the goal of AMES Cinematography to foster a community of young filmmakers, with an emphasis on art beyond typical digital media production. With our first film, St. Charlie, we jumped in at the deep end to learn how to produce a feature-film, while engaged in doing exactly that. Now that we know the process, we want to share the experience with like-minded and passionate teenage filmmakers across the valley.

About AMES Cinematography: AMES Cinematography was formed unofficially in 2015, and consisted of three members, who all worked on a production for the first feature film. In 2016, it became an officially recognized AMES club, teaching other AMES students about the value of film, filmmaking, and film history. Anthony Giorgio is the Captain of the AMES Cinematography team.
